About The Redhead

I'm a redhead, I'm twenty-something, and I have two main passions in life - food and travel. My next meal and my next adventure consume my thoughts more hours of the day than I care to admit, and I'll often do hours (or days) of research about what and where to eat before I embark on a trip. To me every day is an adventure, and as long as you know where to look and are open to it you can find unique experiences at every turn.

I started this blog shortly after finding out I would be moving to China, and wanted to use it as a way to keep in touch with the humans I am honoured to know in various parts of the world. It's also something I've wanted to do for sometime now, and this adventure was the motivation I needed. I use this space to share stories, recipes, and recommendations based on the adventures I have, and I love reading about others in return!

I live in Toronto Shenzhen, China, Toronto with my partner husband (we'll call him Other Half) and our cat Zorra. Our cat is the most attention seeking creature on the planet, which is totally a byproduct of her upbringing - thank goodness we don't have children.

We care about where our food comes from and do our best to eat as locally as possible, so many of the recipes on this blog will feature what is seasonal, and therefore at its tastiest. Anything that isn't seasonal will be loaded with butter and sugar and probably chocolate. Just a fair warning.

My little corner of the internet will always be evolving as my adventures change, but I can pretty easily guarantee that there will always be elements of food and travel in whatever I'm doing. I hope you enjoy it.

If you want to know more, leave a comment and I just may answer it!

    1. This question just sent me into a giant reverie of thought. I have two answers.

If I could be anything I wanted to be I would be a stand mixer because they are super useful and super sexy. But if I'm being honest, I'm more of a waffle iron, wants to be useful but usually just ends up in the way.
